Handbook-Pro is an enterprise app designed to ensure employees engage with critical handbooks, including health, safety, and environmental guidelines. The goal of the project was to create a solution that large organizations could rely on to make sure essential information is read, understood, and acknowledged by their workforce. I led the project as the sole designer, responsible for research, design, branding, and prototyping.
Challenge & Process
The client approached me with a broad idea but no clear direction on how the app should work. I began by conducting research into user flows and understanding the needs of employees and managers who would use the system. Through multiple ideation sessions with the client, I explored different approaches, ensuring the design balanced usability, compliance, and engagement. I developed a logo and brand guide for Handbook-Pro, created the initial app design, and built an interactive prototype so the client could experience the product before investing in development. To push the project further, I also mocked up potential new features, challenging assumptions and helping the client refine their ideas.
Outcome & Impact
The project resulted in a polished, user-centered design and prototype that provided the client with a clear vision for development. I handed the design over to the developer and worked closely with them throughout implementation to ensure nothing was lost in translation. The interactive prototype allowed stakeholders to test workflows and functionality, reducing uncertainty and potential development costs. The branding and design system established a consistent visual identity for the app, while the feature explorations encouraged strategic thinking about future enhancements. The project positioned Handbook-Pro as a scalable and engaging solution for large enterprises to manage employee compliance with key guidelines.
